Well until recently it was a traditional banded scheme in his 'burnt orange' which harked back to the Molteni that Merckx rode with.

As you can see, that has all changed with his Ristretto getting a radical facelift thanks to the new GTB scheme developed by our design and paint master Jared Bailey.

Rounding out the package is Di2, complete with non drive side mounted battery and the new drops mounted sprint shifter – a favourite of not only the sprinters in the Pro peloton but also one previous sprinter in Darren.

And whilst we still love cable actuated groupsets, the temptation to try what more and more of our customers are spec'ing their bike with was too great. With the response from the boss certainly being a big thumbs up!

A closer look at Darren's bike can be seen on our Flickr site or if you are in the area drop in for a coffee and a chat with the crew here at Baumland to see it in the 'flesh'.

Also stay tuned as soon Jared will give a more in depth explanation of this, his latest GT scheme, the GTB.
